The Sherex pre-bullbed rivet nut offers a large grip range for installation into single, variable or multiple thickness materials. Also known as cross nuts, this particular rivet nut offers a higher grip range is because the increased surface area, which disperses the tension providing increased pull out resistance and won't distort thinner, softer material.
Grip range can be affected by parent material and hole size. Sherex recommends trial installations to determine the proper grip range for the application. Contact Sherex for details. The prebulbed rivet nuts can be installed with spin spin tooling.
Sherex's straight shank, slotted body rivet nuts have increased grip ranges over other Sherex rivet nuts, and are best used in softer materials and thing material like plastic, aluminum, and composite. The difference between the prebulbed slotted body CPB Series rivet nut and the straight shank CPN Series is it can fit into a smaller hole than the prebulbed CPB Series, as the bulb of the CPB Series ...
Riveting Nuts require access to both sides of the base material, and allow threads to be contained fully within the thickness of the base material. When installed, they provide little to no protrusion off of the base material.
