The MS 100 Rivet Nut Installation Tool is designed for installing thin wall & heavy duty rivet nuts from 5/16-18 to 1/2-20 (M8-M14).

This all-purpose Spin-Pull tool is adjustable to install rivet nuts in materials of different thickness and has a one-touch trigger with auto reverse for easy installation. It comes with one Mandrel and Anvil.

Note

The MS 100 installation tools should be operated at 80-100 psi. Sherex recommends the use of an air regulator, air filter and lubrication system to reduce the wear of internal components. It is also recommended to lubricate the mandrel to increase performance. Mandrels should be replaced when excessive thread wear occurs.

Spin-Pull Rivet Nut Installation

Spin-Pull tools, while able to install any style of rivet nut, are used primarily for the installation of heavy-duty rivet nuts due to their higher installation force. A Spin-Pull tool operates by spinning the rivet nut onto the tool and then pulling back on the threads to install the rivet nut. The tool can be adjusted for different grip lengths and to achieve proper setting.

To begin, ensure that the mandrel extends at least one thread beyond the end of the rivet nut. Next, hand thread the rivet nut one turn onto the mandrel to prevent thread crossing. Depress the trigger halfway to thread the rivet nut onto the mandrel.

With the rivet nut flush against the head of the tool, place the rivet nut into the properly sized hole in the parent material and fully depress the trigger of the tool.

When the rivet nut is installed, the body of the rivet nut will expand in the hole and then form the bubble on the backside of the parent material. Once the rivet nut is installed, release the trigger activating the tool's automatic reversing feature.

To the right is a properly installed heavy-duty rivet nut. The increased wall thickness and flange thickness make the CA series ideal for applications where a high strength fastening joint is necessary.
