A Rivet Nut Stud is a 2 piece fastener combining a rivet nut and a screw that is:
- Intended for blind installation into thin sheet metal
- Custom designed for specific applications in a variety of sizes, styles, materials, and finishes.
Rivet nut studs work the same way as blind rivet nuts, are installed in a similar way with standard rivet nut tooling, but they already have the stud installed. This saves installers the step of putting in the through bolt.
Like most blind rivet nuts, rivet nut studs are great replacements for weld nuts and are a great fastener when installation is only possible from one side of the workpiece or where access to the backside is not possible.
Sherex has the ability to make a variety of different styles of rivet nut studs: round body, knurled, hexagonal body, or even large flanged.
To create a custom rivet nut stud, Sherex requires the following information:
- Installed Stud Length. Taking into account material thickness (grip) & stud head thickness.
- Material Thickness
- Stud Strength. PC 8.8/9.8/10.9; Gr 5
